Visions like this one were all too common on New Year's Day this year. Mother Nature, according to the weather bureau, presented Lloyd City with almost 95 cm, or three feet of snow.between 10:30 pm and 5:00 am. Weather forecasters had originally predicted that the storm would by-pass the city. Because of the concern over the Y2K issue, all Emergency and City Works departments had extra people working. LCP and LCT also had extra staff on duty that night. There were no major disruptions to any services because of the storm.
