Health officials are warning people to take care of themselves if they should get the flu. "Don't go back to your normal routine, just because you're feeling a bit better," Dr. Gray warns. "Your system is still worn out from fighting the flu. It leaves you open to other infections and you're right back where you stared from."

Soda Shoppe Hottest Spot in Town

Firefighters were called to the Soda Shoppe on Main last Wednesday. Staff had called to report smoke pouring from the basement.

LCP workers turned off the power to the popular restaurant, and firefighters discovered the cause of the smoke. A rubber gasket had worked its way into the shaft of the recirculation fan.

Firefighters say the damage was minimal, but Soda Shoppe manager 'RJ' Jones isn't so sure. "I'm not worried about the cost of replacing the fan," he grins. "But I've got a reputation as a guy who likes a good joke. How am I going to convince my high-school age customers that, no, I didn't let off a stink bomb in the Shoppe?" His voice mirrors his concern when he adds, "I'm just grateful that no one was hurt."
